About Aasraa Trust

Introduction

Aasraa Trust was established in 2009, beginning its work under the Bindal bridge in Dehradun with a riverside slum community. Aasraa started with 35 children and has now impacted more than 25,000 children across 80 projects in Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand.

Aasraa focuses on society’s most underserved and vulnerable children, supporting them through a multifaceted approach that includes education, skills training, nutrition, healthcare, and shelter homes. Starting with street-level mobilization, Aasraa prepares children for mainstream education and facilitates their transition to higher studies and skills training.

Aasraa is certified by the National Institute of Open Schooling and collaborates with the Education Department of Uttarakhand to enhance the quality of education in government schools. Additionally, Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused, and special needs children.

Technology plays a crucial role in enhancing education across all Aasraa programs, from Mobile Learning Centers to Mobile Computer Labs.
